A great opportunity has arisen for a skilled CNC Machinist to join a leading supplier to the Oil & Gas, Aerospace and Defence industries.
Job Description:
- Interpret technical drawings and job packs to set up CNC machines
- Program and operate CNC lathes and milling machines (Fanuc, Siemens controls)
- Perform first-off inspections and maintain quality throughout production
- Adjust offsets and tooling to optimize cycle times and reduce waste
- Conduct routine machine maintenance and adhere to health & safety protocols
- Collaborate with engineers to improve processes and efficiency
Beneficial Skills / Qualifications:
- Time-served or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering.
- Proven experience as a CNC Setter/Operator (multi-axis preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret complex CAD drawings
- Experience with various metals - exotic, steel & aluminium
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and CMM inspection.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Flexibility to work shifts and overtime when required
- Programming experience at the machine and offline (Hypermill or similar)
- Experience with Mill/Turn or 5-axis machining and tight-tolerance components
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles
