28.00 (24.99 +3.01 hol pay)per hour Monday to Friday
34.00 (30.35 + 3.66 hol pay)per hour Weekend
60.00 per day accommodation allowance PAYE rates inclusive of holiday pay
Role Overview
The Rigging Supervisor is responsible for overseeing multiple rigging gangs, ensuring all lifting and rigging operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with site procedures and industry regulations. The role includes supervising day-to-day rigging activities, coordinating work fronts, and acting as a Crane/Lift Supervisor for key and critical lifts. This position plays a vital role in maintaining safe systems of work and ensuring high operational standards on site.
Key Responsibilities
Rigging Supervision
- Lead, coordinate, and oversee several rigging gangs working across the site.
- Plan daily rigging activities, allocate manpower, and ensure resources and equipment are available and fit for purpose.
- Conduct toolbox talks, pre-task briefings, and risk assessments with rigging teams.
- Monitor work progress and ensure compliance with method statements, lift plans, and site HSE requirements.
- Ensure all rigging operations are carried out safely and efficiently, resolving issues as they arise.
- Maintain clear communication with site management, crane operators, and other trades.
Crane/Lift Supervision
- Act as the designated Crane/Lift Supervisor for complex, heavy, or critical lifts.
- Review and approve lift plans, ensuring all lifts meet LOLER and site standards.
- Coordinate with Appointed Persons, crane operators, and rigging teams to ensure safe execution.
- Verify ground conditions, crane setup, exclusion zones, and lifting configurations prior to lifting.
- Oversee the execution of critical lifts and intervene where unsafe conditions are identified.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all rigging and lifting operations comply with current legislation (e.g., LOLER, PUWER) and company/site procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections of lifting gear, rigging equipment, and work areas.
- Report incidents, near misses, and unsafe behaviours, supporting the site safety culture.
- Maintain accurate records of rigging activities, equipment inspections, and lift documentation.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Valid Crane/Lift Supervisor Ticket (CPCS, NPORS, or equivalent).
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Rigging/Lifting Operations (desirable).
- SSSTS required
- Proven experience supervising multiple rigging gangs on large construction or industrial sites.
- Strong working knowledge of lift planning, rigging equipment, and crane operations.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation (LOLER, PUWER, Work at Height Regulations).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to read and interpret lift plans, drawings, and method statements.
