Contract Manager - Data Centre & Critical Environments
60k + car allowance, bonus and generous package
Primary Locations: Knaresborough & York (with minimal national travel)
Hybrid Role | Ideal Base: Between Harrogate and Leeds

Own a national contract. Lead high-performance teams. Drive mission-critical excellence.
We are seeking a dynamic Contract Manager to take full operational and commercial ownership of a nationally scoped contract spanning two primary data centres, a corporate estate, and multiple call centres. This is a hybrid role requiring regular presence at the Knaresborough and York sites, so a home base between Harrogate and Leeds would be ideal.
This is an exciting opportunity to step into a senior leadership role overseeing complex critical environments, where reliability, technical knowledge, and commercial acumen are essential. You'll lead a team of seven direct reports, manage all contract performance aspects, and be the go-to person for both day-to-day operations and strategic growth.

Your Core Responsibilities:

  • Contract Ownership: Lead and manage a multi-site portfolio including 2 data centres, corporate offices, and call centres.
  • Team Leadership: Directly manage 7 reports, drive performance, develop talent, and support a culture of safety and excellence.
  • Client Relationship Management: Act as the key interface with client stakeholders, ensuring trust, transparency, and delivery against KPIs.
  • Operational Oversight: Ensure delivery of PPM, remedial works, and small projects. Guarantee resilience, compliance, and engineering excellence across critical systems.
  • Commercial Management: Full responsibility for P&L, cost control, WIP reduction, and identification of new business opportunities.
  • Compliance & QHSE: Maintain highest standards of health & safety, statutory compliance, internal auditing, and sustainability best practices.
  • Subcontractor Oversight: Manage third-party suppliers and performance on small works and minor projects.

You Will Need:

  • Experience in Critical Environments: Ideally data centres; otherwise, strong critical infrastructure background is essential.
  • Electrical Engineering Qualification: Required due to the technical nature of the account.
  • Commercial Expertise: Demonstrable experience owning a P&L at Contract Manager level or above.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and develop multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites.
  • Location Flexibility: Must be within commutable daily distance of Knaresborough and York.
  • IT Proficiency: Strong understanding of CMMS platforms, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office suite.

What's in It For You?

  • Leadership Role in a future-proof and essential sector.
  • High-visibility position with full operational and commercial autonomy.
  • Hybrid working model with a primary presence required across two flagship data centre sites.
  • Opportunity to influence and grow an already successful contract.
  • Immediate start available for the right candidate.
