Temporary Credit Controller

Search Consultancy are seeking a proactive and experienced Credit Controller to join a family run business to join a friendly finance team. This is a key role responsible for managing the end-to-end credit control process, maintaining strong client relationships, and supporting the wider finance function. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for improving cash flow and reducing aged debt, we'd love to hear from you.

Reporting to the Finance Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Chase outstanding payments and handle customer queries.
  • Process card payments and keep records up to date.
  • Build good relationships with clients and resolve invoice issues.
  • Run credit checks and set credit limits for new and existing customers.
  • Create reports on overdue accounts and suggest ways to improve collections.
  • Reconcile bank accounts daily (training provided).
  • Help with other finance tasks and support the wider team.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in credit control and reducing aged debt.
  • Good understanding of credit risk and finance basics.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A team player with a flexible, can-do attitude.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Sage 2000 (admirable)
