Most job ads for credit control roles say the same things:

"Dynamic finance team.""Fast-paced environment.""Strong communication skills."

You've probably read 20 of them already today. So, let's cut the nonsense.

This job is about getting money in. From people and organisations that don't always want to part with it. That means you'll need a mix of persistence, diplomacy, and the ability to stay calm when the person on the other end of the phone is anything but.

You'll be based in Leeds city centre, with colleagues who (mostly) have a sense of humour and know their stuff.

You'll be:

  • Chasing overdue invoices and fees.
  • Keeping debts within agreed levels and escalating when they're not.
  • Building relationships so that next month's phone call is less awkward than this month's.
  • Sitting in on debtor meetings and reporting on where things stand.
  • Reconciling accounts and spotting errors that others have missed.

What they're looking for:

  • Someone who knows credit control inside and out.
  • The ability to handle confidential information without it ending up in the pub.
  • Someone who's self-disciplined, but not so rigid they fall apart when plans change.
  • Confident in Excel, Word, Outlook, and ideally SAGE (or similar).
  • Good with people, chasing money isn't just about spreadsheets.

What you'll get:

  • An annual salary of up to £30k DOE.
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Monday to Friday - no weekend calls about unpaid bills.
  • Hybrid working.
  • Regular team events (because finance people need a night out too).

If you like the idea of being in a role where your work makes a tangible difference to the bottom line (and you don't mind a bit of awkwardness along the way) send us your CV.
