Length: 6 months (initial)
A leading technology driven organisation within the financial services sector is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to support the delivery of a significant backlog within their data loading platform. The backlog includes a wide range of work, from SQL Server upgrades and platform reengineering to code optimisation and business logic enhancements.
This is a hands-on role where you will augment existing engineering teams, accelerating delivery by working across a prioritised set of technical improvements rather than owning individual projects.
Data Engineer Responsibilities:
Deliver engineering changes across a complex SQL-based data loading platform.
Implement and support SQL Server upgrades and re-platforming initiatives.
Carry out targeted enhancements to existing code and business logic.
Contribute to code deployment, testing, and maintenance within a source-controlled environment.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with triage and prioritisation processes.
Data Engineer Requirements:
Extensive experience with SQL Server, particularly strong T-SQL development skills.
Proficiency with ETL tools such as SSIS.
Familiarity with source control systems (TFS, Git) and code deployment processes.
Experience supporting large-scale data platform environments, including maintenance activities and performance tuning.
A collaborative mindset with the ability to deliver effectively within established engineering teams.
We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age.
