The Opportunity

Our client is a leading M&E Contractor. Continued expansion in their Leeds office has created a new opportunity for an experienced Electrical Estimator. The role of the Electrical Estimator is to support the existing team overseeing and conducting all aspects of estimating within the department.

The Position

As the Electrical Estimator you will be responsibly for

  • Preparing work to be estimated by gathering proposals, plans, specifications, and related documents.
  • Identifying labour, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, plans, specifications, and related documents.
  • Compiling costs by analysing labour, material, and time requirements.
  • Resolving discrepancies by collecting and analysing information.
  • Presenting prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
  • Preparing special reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends.
  • Maintaining cost data base by entering and backing up data.
  • Maintaining a log of all estimates coming into and leaving the business and analyses win/ loss rates and reasoning.
  • Supporting the business in anyway necessary as appropriate when requested by Directors or Management.

The Person

  • The ideal candidate will have previous estimating experience, ideally working on commercial and healthcare projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills.
  • Good administration skills.
  • Have good organising skills.
  • Have problem solving skills.
  • Be able to work accurately, with good attention to detail.
  • Be able to use databases, spreadsheets, word processing and excel.
  • Excellent numeracy skills.
