I have a very welcoming mainstream primary school based in Wakefield looking for an experienced teaching assistant to join their team in September 2025. This is a long term position until Easter 2026 with a possible contract for the right person.

The Role:

As a teaching assistant you will be working closely with the class teacher in KS1 and the SEND team to support the pupil with SEND needs on a 1 to 1 basis. You will be expected to help the pupil engage positively with learning and school life.

Responsibilities:

Supporting the pupil with learning as well as emotional needs

To implement the school behaviour policies and strategies

Maintaining a safe and positive environment at all times

Assisting the classroom as a teaching assistant wherever needed

Building relationships with the pupil as well as staff members and parents

The ideal teaching assistant will have experience supporting children with various SEND needs and will have a positive, calm approach. You will be engaging and be able to supports the needs of children with various needs.
