Job Description:

  • Assemble control panels according to electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Layout panel backplates with components
  • Wire power and control as per panel schematics provided
  • Install and wire components such as circuit breakers, relays, switches, and terminal blocks
  • Order equipment and work with suppliers for procuring goods for the workshop.
  • Test control panels for functionality and troubleshoot any issues
  • Follow safety protocols and adhere to industry standards during assembly and installation including pre-check, testing and completion of relevant testing documents.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of panel assembly and wiring
  • Work with and assist the development of the department and apprentices within the department.
  • Ability to travel to sites occasionally for onsite installations.

Beneficial Skills / Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in such previous role - CAD knowledge is advantageous
  • Proficiency in assembling control panels and wiring components with the ability to work from and interpret electrical drawings
  • Familiarity with logic controllers and surface mount technology, particularly within the BMS sector
  • Ability to use power tools and hand tools effectively
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately and to work on their own or as part of a team, including help tuition apprentices.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
