Overview and Opportunity

Achieve Professionals are supporting a growing Charted Accountants in their search for experienced Corporate Tax Professionals, looking to step into a management role.

Job Description

In this role, you will have the opportunity to join a forward thinking accountancy practice, leading on-site audit fieldwork at clients’ premises, liaising with clients’ senior management and managing the audit team on site.

You will report directly to one of the firm's Audit Managers, taking responsibility for the completion of audit files and the drafting of audited financial statements.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide tax planning and compliance advice to clients on corporate tax matters to a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Manage client relationships and act as the main point of contact for tax-related queries.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities for clients, provide advice on the tax implications of business decisions and deliver planning projects for clients.
  • Review and oversee the preparation of Corporate Tax Returns and computations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Assist with tax audits and investigations, liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Support the development of junior staff through training and coaching.
  • Stay up to date with changes in tax legislation and identify opportunities for clients to reduce their tax liabilities.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams within the firm to provide a holistic service to clients.
  • Participate in business development activities, identifying and pursuing opportunities to grow the firm’s client base.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience of working as a Corporate Tax Manager or Assistant Manager within an accountancy practice
  • Around 5+ years of experience working in a corporate tax environment within an accountancy practice
  • ACA or CTA qualified, or equivalent
  • Strong technical knowledge or corporate tax experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive and commercially minded
  • Excellent attention to detail
