Financial Reporting Manager - Leeds City Centre - Hybrid Working

Robert Half is delighted to support our client, a highly respected and well-known PLC, in recruiting an accomplished Financial Reporting Manager for an interim role. Based in Leeds, this position offers a mix of office-based and remote work and gives you the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic business environment.

As Financial Reporting Manager, you will play an essential role in leading the Group's financial reporting processes, ensuring exceptional accuracy, compliance, and innovation. Working closely with the Group Finance Director, you will be responsible for driving improvements in internal and external reporting, maintaining strong controls, and supporting the business through critical financial periods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the Group's financial reporting function, ensuring the integrity of internal and external reporting.
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of the Group's external statutory reports, including Annual Reports, Half-Year Announcements, and Preliminary Results in accordance with IFRS and UKLA regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and improve the Group's consolidation process, working with local finance teams to ensure the accuracy of intercompany balances, reserves, and journals.
  • Drive enhanced management reporting processes to improve the quality of information and provide actionable insights across the business.
  • Maintain and optimise financial reporting systems to ensure efficient and effective reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Group's finance colleagues across territories to ensure a consistent approach to financial reporting best practices.
  • Partner effectively with external auditors to deliver a smooth audit process, including timetabling, coordination, and timely issue resolution.

Skills & Knowledge Required:

  • Strong skills in numeracy, communication, planning, and organisation.
  • Proficiency in consolidation accounting, including foreign exchange exposure.
  • Advanced IT skills, particularly in Excel, with prior experience managing financial systems.
  • An independent worker with the ability to take the initiative while maintaining high standards.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • A technically accomplished qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA preferred).
  • A proven track record of applying IFRS standards, with significant experience in financial reporting.
  • Exposure to listed company reporting and/or UKLA regulations is highly desirable.
  • Degree qualified with experience in group-level reporting processes.

Managing People:You will manage and motivate a direct report, overseeing their development and performance, ensuring the delivery of a high-functioning reporting team.
