Search Consultancy are supporting a growing business in Leeds to recruit a Group Finance Manager. This is a newly created role and offers a lot of scope to support with the growth of the business.

You will act as the number two to Financial Controller, and oversee and manage the financial activities of the business. This role is crucial for providing leadership and strategic direction to the finance team, ensuring that all financial operations are accurate, timely, and compliant with accounting standards and regulations. The Group Finance Manager will be responsible for consolidating financial statements, managing budgets, forecasting, financial analysis, and providing insight to senior leadership to drive business decisions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and consolidation of group-wide financial statements in accordance with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Provide regular financial reports and analysis, including profit and loss, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analysis.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and work with department heads to create accurate and achievable financial plans.
  • Monitor actual financial performance against budgeted figures, identifying and explaining variances, and providing actionable insights for corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain financial forecasts, providing guidance to senior management on potential financial outcomes.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to develop financial strategies that support the organisation's goals and objectives.
  • Conduct financial modelling and scenario analysis to inform business strategy and decision-making.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve profitability, cost-efficiency, and cash flow management.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage the team's performance through regular feedback, training, and development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies, maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and corporate governance standards.
  • Identify financial risks and implement effective mitigation strategies to safeguard the company's financial position.
  • Manage audits, liaising with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.
  • Continuously assess and improve financial processes and systems to ensure they are efficient, and support the growing needs of the business.
  • Implement best practices in financial management and reporting tools.
  • Drive automation and innovation in finance processes to enhance operational efficiency.


Qualifications:

ACA/ACCA/CIMA Part Qualified or Qualified, AAT Qualified.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in group-level financial consolidation, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Strong background in financial analysis and reporting
  • Experience with financial software and ERP systems


Skills:

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial modelling.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
