We are seeking an experienced Forklift Truck (FLT) Driver to join our client in a heavy manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials, components, and finished products across the site. The role will involve both indoor and outdoor working conditions, so applicants must be comfortable working in all weather.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Operate forklift trucks (counterbalance and/or reach, depending on site requirements) safely and efficiently.
- Load, unload, and transport raw materials, components, and finished goods to designated storage or production areas.
- Support manufacturing operations by ensuring materials are delivered in line with production schedules.
- Carry out daily equipment checks and report any defects or issues immediately.
- Maintain accurate records of stock movements in line with company procedures.
- Assist with general warehouse and yard duties, including manual handling when required.
- Adhere to all health & safety policies, site rules, and PPE requirements.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
Skills & Experience
- Valid counterbalance/reach forklift truck licence
- Proven experience as an FLT driver in a manufacturing, engineering, or heavy industrial setting.
- Good awareness of health & safety requirements in a high-risk environment.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (PPE will be provided)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices.
- Reliable, punctual, and a good team player.
- Happy to work within a heavy manufacturing environment (noise, dust, moving machinery)
- Indoor and outdoor duties in all weather conditions.
