Early Years SEN Support

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: 8.30am - 3.30pm (32.5 hours per week)

Pay: 18,000 per annum

The Role:

Veritas Education are working with a cluster of SEN schools in the Leeds area who are looking to recruit multiple early years special educational needs support staff. The special needs schools Veritas Education work with support a range a learners with varying special needs, such as Autism, Aspgerger's, sensory and communication needs.

The schools are specifically set up to support a range of needs, abilities, and help all children access their education.

The Ideal Applicant:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs.
  • Knowledge, understanding and awareness around needs such as Autism, Asperger's and sensory requirements.
  • (Preferred) An early year's qualification and experience working with children from EY to pre-school age groups.
  • Comfortable supporting and managing challenging behaviour (Veritas Education can provide up to date Team Teach positive behaviour management training for those successful applicants).
  • A professional attitude and commitment to work, especially when it comes to creating a safe, nurturing and structure learning environment.
  • An understanding, passionate and energetic staff member who is committed to helping students learn, understand and growth independently.

This role is ideal for anyone finishing a degree based around SEN/Childhood studies, or someone who is looking at a change from their current role in education, care, early years settings and schools!
