Senior Python Developer

Location:Leeds (Hybrid)

Salary:Up to £70,000 + benefits

The Opportunity:

An award-winning digital consultancy is seeking a Senior Python Developer to join their growing healthcare technology practice. Known for delivering meaningful, human-centred digital services, they work closely with organisations to create products that have real-world impact from improving patient care systems to modernising public health services. The environment is agile, forward-thinking, and built around collaboration, not hierarchy.

The Role:

You'll play a senior role within a cross-functional squad, designing and building user-first services, powered by AWS serverless technologies. Acting as a technical authority, you'll influence engineering best practices, contribute to architectural decisions, and work closely with clients to translate complex requirements into elegant, scalable solutions. This role will also give you the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and shape the technical direction of key projects.

Tech You'll Work With:

  • Python (backend focus)
  • AWS serverless (Lambda, DynamoDB, EventBridge, CloudFormation)
  • JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (Node.js, React, Angular)
  • Docker/Kubernetes for containerisation
  • CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, AWS CodeBuild, Azure DevOps)
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • RESTful API and microservices design

About You:

Youre more than just a strong coder you care about how technology fits into the bigger picture. You're a natural problem-solver who thinks about users first, not just the system behind them. You're confident communicating technical ideas to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders. You enjoy mentoring others, sharing knowledge, and arent afraid to challenge the status quo if you see a better way forward. A background in consultancy or fast-paced agile teams will help you hit the ground running.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working on healthcare, NHS, or public sector projects
  • Understanding of government digital service (GDS) standards

Whats in it for you:

  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • 6% employer pension contribution
  • Critical illness and life cover
  • Perkbox membership (discounts, wellbeing perks)
  • Cycle-to-work and electric vehicle salary sacrifice schemes
  • Private health and dental cover options
  • Relocation support package up to £8,000
  • Flexible, hybrid working work from home or offices in Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, Glasgow, London
