UX/UI Developer



Remote (UK-based) 425/day - Inside IR35 3-month contract | Immediate start

We are looking for an experienced UX/UI Developer to join a high-profile NHS digital programme, working remotely within the UK. This is an inside IR35 contract, starting immediately, for an initial 3-month engagement with potential extension.



Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop user-centred digital services aligned with NHS and GDS (Government Digital Service) standards

  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, clinicians, and stakeholders to deliver accessible, intuitive interfaces

  • Translate user research and service requirements into wireframes, prototypes, and high-quality UI designs

  • Ensure designs meet WCAG accessibility standards and NHS digital best practices

  • Support iterative delivery within Agile / Scrum teams

  • Contribute to and maintain design systems and UI components



Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven UX/UI development experience within NHS or healthcare digital services (mandatory)

  • Strong working knowledge of GDS Service Standard and public-sector digital delivery

  • Experience designing for complex, regulated environments

  • Proficiency with tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar

  • Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and modern front-end principles

  • Experience working in Agile, multidisciplinary teams

  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills



Desirable

  • Previous work on live NHS services

  • Experience contributing to or working with design systems

  • Understanding of NHS data, clinical workflows, or patient-facing services
