About the Role

As Chemistry Curriculum Leader, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction and delivery of Chemistry within the Science Faculty. You will have overall responsibility for the planning, delivery, and quality assurance of Chemistry teaching, leading a team of dedicated educators to achieve outstanding outcomes for students.

As part of the journey to further raise attainment in the sciences, they are seeking a Chemistry Curriculum Leader to take the reins and drive forward the vision for exceptional Chemistry education across all key stages.

Position Details

  • Location: Leeds
  • Contract: Permanent full-time (September 2025)
  • Pay Rate: £31650 - £49084 per annum + TLR 2b

Essential Requirements

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role or curriculum responsibility
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

  • Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry across Key Stages 3-5
  • Curriculum design and strategic planning experience

  • Proficiency in analysing and interpreting student performance data

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the Chemistry curriculum across KS3, KS4, and KS5
  • Ensure the curriculum aligns with national frameworks and school priorities
  • Develop and implement effective schemes of work and lesson plans
  • Support and coach teachers to deliver engaging, high-quality Chemistry lessons
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching within the subject
  • Drive improvements in student outcomes across all key stages
  • Lead and coordinate assessment strategies, including standardisation and moderation
  • Oversee curriculum implementation in specific year groups as required
  • Lead on curriculum innovation and the use of educational technologies
  • Contribute to the wider development of the Science Faculty
