Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a Solicitor or FCILEx to join a dynamic Employment team. The role involves managing a caseload of legal expense insurer files and assisting with non-contentious employment work. There may also be opportunities to supervise junior case handlers.

This is a challenging but rewarding position, and the team values mutual support and collaboration.



Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on potential Employment Tribunal claims.

  • Manage a caseload of Employment Tribunal matters, including drafting pleadings and witness statements, negotiating settlements, advising on settlement agreements, and instructing counsel or advocates as required.

  • Comply with insurer service level agreements.

  • Support the team with non-contentious employment work, including contracts, handbooks, and reactive or proactive employment advice.

  • Participate in marketing initiatives, including writing employment law updates and providing client training sessions.

  • Ensure accurate and high-quality advice is provided to clients.

  • Use case management systems to progress files efficiently.

  • Billing and invoicing.



Skills & Competencies

Essential:

  • Fully qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or FCILEx.

  • Strong passion for employment law and practical, commercial problem-solving.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Effective communication, organisation, and time management skills.

  • Ability to take responsibility for case strategy with appropriate support.

  • Team-oriented with the ability to prioritise and meet strict deadlines.

  • Positive and proactive attitude.

Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in Employment Law at a sufficient level.

  • Ability to manage and run a caseload independently.
