Irwin and Colton has been engaged by a leading, family-owned manufacturing company to recruit a Health, Safety and Environment Advisor. The organisation has a proud history and continues to grow globally, supplying specialist mechanical handling equipment to a wide range of customers.

With strong investment in advanced manufacturing techniques, they're now looking for a proactive HSE professional to help drive forward their safety performance.

Responsibilities of the Health, Safety and Environment Advisor will include:

  • Supporting the Head of Manufacturing in implementing the health, safety and environment strategy across the Leeds site
  • Conducting risk assessments and audits, and ensuring findings are actioned effectively
  • Delivering engaging safety training and toolbox talks to promote understanding and best practice
  • Investigating incidents, identifying root causes and working with teams to prevent recurrence
  • Ensuring ongoing compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation, and maintaining ISO 45001 and 14001 systems
  • Driving a proactive safety culture and supporting behavioural safety initiatives

The ideal Health, Safety and Environment Advisor will have:

  • Proven experience in a health and safety role within manufacturing, engineering, or a similar environment
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent
  • A solid understanding of health, safety and environmental management systems and legislation
  • A practical, solutions-focused mindset with the drive to deliver results
