Job Description:

As a Psychology Graduate School Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience of our students. This is an excellent opportunity for a psychology graduate to gain valuable hands-on experience in an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with teaching staff to provide additional support to students with various learning and behavioural needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualised support plans.
  • Offer one-on-one and small group support to students as required.
  • Contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help students access the curriculum, adapt materials, and utilise specialised resources.
  • Support students in developing essential life skills and social skills.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, SENCO, and other staff members.
  • Maintain records of student progress and behaviour.
  • Foster a safe and nurturing atmosphere for all students.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the development and learning of children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
  • Ability to work harmoniously as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • An understanding of the educational needs of students.
  • Relevant experience or certifications (desirable but not essential).
  • Right to work in the UK essential
  • Overseas police check required for those who have lived out the UK in the last 5 years for over 6 months.
