SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Burley, Leeds
Contract: Long-term, with potential to become permanent

PK Education are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil in a welcoming primary school near Burley, Leeds. This is a fantastic long-term opportunity, with the potential to become permanent for the right person.

About the role:

  • Supporting a Year 5 pupil with complex needs and Autism
  • Working on a 1:1 basis, focusing on tailored support and building positive routines
  • The pupil uses non-verbal communication but is able to write and type effectively
  • No high-risk or aggressive behaviours
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised learning and care.

About you:

  • MUST have SEND experience, ideally with Autism and speech & language needs
  • Previous experience supporting children in KS2 is highly desirable
  • Patient, consistent, and able to use creative strategies to aid communication and engagement
  • Reliable, committed, and able to build strong relationships with both the pupil and staff team
