What to Expect

We are looking for a motivated Teaching Assistant to actively work with pupils with complex needs between ages 2-19 to help them with their learning and engage them with activities in a specialist setting based in the LS6 area. We need someone who is able to use strategies to boost young people's mental health and engage these pupils to expand their comfort zones by supporting them in group work. You will be supporting teachers to achieve their curriculum goals by working with children in groups or 1:1 to help them to complete classroom activities.

What you'll do

This role will require you to utilise your knowledge of learning support, communication and develop a varied approach to helping pupils with complex learning needs and disabilities. You'll also need to understand the needs of pupils and work together with teachers and caregivers.

What you'll bring

• Experience working with children with special learning needs and disabilities.
• An Enhanced Child DBS. (which we can also help with, if already not held)
• Behaviour management skills and classroom management skills.
• Ability to support in small groups or on a 1:1 basis.
