We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Assistant to join our existing team at our Head Office in Leeds. This will be Part-Time at around 30 hours per week.Â
The salary will be pro-rated.Â
The Role:
We are currently seeking a motivated and proactive team player to join our HR team as an HR Assistant. The successful candidate will act as the first point of contact for all HR administrative queries across the business and providing vital support to the HR Advisors. You will play a key role in delivering a timely, professional, and efficient HR service, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
In this role you will:
- Respond promptly to general enquiries received via the HR inbox, ensuring same-day resolution or appropriate action for low-level HR queries and case work.
- Maintain and update the HR system and employee records accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
- Proactive management of short and long-term absences in line with the SOP and assist with Occupational Health referrals and administration.
- Support the HR team with all recruitment administration and coordinate a smooth and efficient employee onboarding process.
- Manage and maintain all employee documentation and records, including contracts, offer letters, onboarding and offboarding details, DBS and HCPC checks, and updates to the company organisation chart to reflect all new starters, leavers, and internal staff movements
- Foster strong, collaborative relationships with employees and managers across the business, promoting a positive work culture and ensuring behaviours align with Steeper’s core values
- Assist the HR Team as and when required with ER case work by taking accurate notes during meetings and assist in preparing/compiling documentation where required.
- Collaborate with the Payroll Advisor to support payroll administration tasks as needed, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Coordinate and record annual appraisals, identifying and flagging any performance concerns or training and development needs to support continuous employee growth.
- Oversee the administration of employee engagement initiatives, including Steeper Social, UNUM, the Dedicated Service programme, and the reward voucher scheme.
- Support any training administration including the co-ordination of any internal/external training programmes.
Provide general administrative support to the HR team, demonstrating flexibility as the list of responsibilities is not exhaustive, and additional duties may be required as needed.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. You must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, able to multitask effectively, and demonstrate a proactive and positive attitude. Adaptability is key, along with a keen eye for detail and a flexible approach to changing priorities. Some previous experience is essential, and holding a CIPD Level 3 qualification (or currently working towards it) would be highly desirable.
