Our client, a growing mission critical infrastructure company, is looking for a dedicated Project Manager to manage their projects in the Utilities & Renewables sectors.As a Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for delivering complex IT and network infrastructure projects from installing large-scale structured cabling and fibre optics to setting up network infrastructure inside renewable energy sites. You’ll also work on implementing cybersecurity and SCADA systems, establishing network control rooms, and installing CCTV and security networks. This will involve end-to-end project management, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, while maintaining strong customer relationships and overseeing on-site activities. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience managing large-scale IT and network infrastructure installation projects, ideally within the renewables or utilities sectors. Key responsibilities for the Project Manager:

  • Work closely with customers and internal teams to deliver large-scale industrial IT and network Infrastructure projects for energy sector clients.
  • Manage projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget, including effectively handling risks, issues, and changes to scope.
  • Oversee multiple projects end-to-end, often balancing conflicting priorities and deadlines.
  • Coordinate with team leaders to allocate and manage resources effectively across projects.
  • Regularly liaise with customers to ensure a positive experience and keep them informed.
  • Produce and present project KPI reports, including updates on billing and profitability.
  • Identify project risks and work collaboratively to manage or mitigate them as needed.
  • Oversee health and safety risks related to on-site activities

Skills and experience required for the Project Manager:

  • At least 5 years of experience managing large scale projects valued at £1 million or more
  • A strong hands-on technical background, ideally in IT infrastructure or network security
  • Experience of managing the commercial aspects of large projects
  • Experience managing Health & Safety risks in industrial environments
  • Excellent reporting skills, with advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Project
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, and Prince2
  • You must be able to gain Security Clearance at NPPV3 SC level and have a full UK driving licence.
