Position: 2nd Line Support Engineer Location: Leeds, On-site (UK-based)Salary: £26,000 - £32,000

A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced and motivated 2nd Line IT Service Desk Technician to join a fast-growing and award-winning provider of IT and communications services. This is a full-time, on-site role offering excellent progression prospects and a range of employee benefits.

This position would suit someone who enjoys problem-solving, delivering excellent customer service, and working as part of a close-knit technical support team. The environment is dynamic, fast-paced, and ideal for individuals who thrive when challenged and want to continuously develop their skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide second-line support via phone, email, and remote tools
  • Take ownership of support tickets, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
  • Escalate complex issues when necessary and follow through to resolution
  • Collaborate with 1st Line Technicians and assist in their technical development
  • Assist in system changes, software installations, and user account management
  • Monitor systems proactively to prevent potential issues
  • Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to the internal knowledge base
  • Support project work including migrations and infrastructure upgrades

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a 2nd Line IT support role
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Windows Server, Active Directory
  • Proficiency in Office 365, Azure AD, Intune, SharePoint, OneDrive
  • Understanding of networking principles - VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP
  • Familiarity with RDP, Hyper-V, endpoint protection, and backup solutions
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications (MS-900, AZ-900, SC-900) are advantageous
