SHEQ Advisor – Manufacturing | Leeds HQ + Some National Travel

What You’ll Do as SHEQ Officer / SHEQ Advisor

Health, Safety & Environment:

  • Lead and support audits, inspections, and HSE investigations across sites.
  • Be a visible, approachable presence on the shop floor, coaching safe behaviours.
  • Drive adoption of digital H&S tools (audits, risk assessments, reporting).
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness and toolbox talks.
  • Contribute to ISO 45001 initiatives and platform data validation.

Quality:

  • Triage and initiate NCR investigations
  • Support digital engineering change request workflows.
  • Be the first point of contact for shop floor quality concerns.
  • Work alongside the Quality Engineer to reduce reactive workload.
  • Assist with ISO audit readiness and documentation improvements.

Who We’re Looking For

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent Level 3 HSE qualification).
  • 4–5 years’ experience in a similar SHEQ, HSE, or quality-focused role within manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environments.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills on the shop floor.
  • Basic ability to read and understand engineering drawings (can be trained).
  • Organised, confident, and proactive.
  • Willing to travel nationally 1–2 times per month.

Bonus Points for:

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, or 45001.
  • Experience in auditing or digital SHEQ systems.
  • Familiarity with NCR/ECR processes.

Location & Hours

  • Base: Leeds HQ
  • Travel: 1–2 days per month to UK sites
  • Hours: 37.5 per week, flexi-time available (core hours 9am–3pm)
