We’re urgently recruiting experienced Mechanical Assembly Fitters for a world-renowned engineering business with a proud legacy dating back to the 1930s. Based in Wortley, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a company that’s still growing—and needs your skills right now.

The Role:
You’ll be assembling and testing complex, high-precision OEM machinery in a fast-paced and supportive environment.
Key responsibilities include:

Mechanical assembly of machinery and tooling to customer specifications

Fault diagnosis, testing, and quality checking

Collaborating with engineers and supporting semi-skilled colleagues

Maintaining a clean, safe, and audit-ready workspace

Assisting apprentices and mentoring new starters

Escalating issues and contributing to problem-solving investigations
What You’ll Get:

Salary: £34,710 per annum (£17.80/hour)

Contract: Fixed-Term until end of 2025

Holiday: 28 days rising to 33 after 12 weeks

Hours: Full-time, days (no nights!)

Pension: Enrolment after 12 weeks

What We’re Looking For:

Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 3 in mechanical engineering (or equivalent)

Minimum 2 years’ experience assembling industrial or manufacturing equipment

Ability to read engineering drawings and follow SOPs
-
Flexible, safety-first mindset and team player attitude
-
Comfortable mentoring and supporting junior colleagues
