We’re urgently recruiting experienced Mechanical Assembly Fitters for a world-renowned engineering business with a proud legacy dating back to the 1930s. Based in Wortley, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a company that’s still growing—and needs your skills right now.

The Role: 

You’ll be assembling and testing complex, high-precision OEM machinery in a fast-paced and supportive environment. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Mechanical assembly of machinery and tooling to customer specifications 

  • Fault diagnosis, testing, and quality checking 

  • Collaborating with engineers and supporting semi-skilled colleagues 

  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and audit-ready workspace 

  • Assisting apprentices and mentoring new starters 

  • Escalating issues and contributing to problem-solving investigations 

What You’ll Get: 

  • Salary: £34,710 per annum (£17.80/hour) 

  • Contract: Fixed-Term until end of 2025 

  • Holiday: 28 days rising to 33 after 12 weeks 

  • Hours: Full-time, days (no nights!) 

  • Pension: Enrolment after 12 weeks

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 3 in mechanical engineering (or equivalent) 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience assembling industrial or manufacturing equipment 

  • Ability to read engineering drawings and follow SOPs 

  • Flexible, safety-first mindset and team player attitude 

  • Comfortable mentoring and supporting junior colleagues
