CAD Operator

About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled CAD Operator to join their team, supporting the design and delivery of ventilation installation projects. These projects typically involve the installation of ductwork systems, kitchen canopies, and associated ventilation equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed technical drawings, ensuring compliance with specifications and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce precise 2D and/or 3D drawings for ventilation installation projects, including ductwork layouts and kitchen canopy designs.

• Interpret design briefs, site surveys, and specifications to develop detailed plans.

• Update and amend existing drawings as required by engineers or project managers.

• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company procedures.

• Collaborate closely with the design, engineering, and project teams to meet project deadlines.

• Maintain organised records of drawings, revisions, and related documentation.

• Assist in preparing technical documents and design presentations when required.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience as a CAD Operator, ideally within the ventilation or M&E industry.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (experience with other CAD software is an advantage).

• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.

• Organised, methodical, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
