Planner / Senior Planner
Location: Leeds (Hybrid Working Available)

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a nationally respected and fast-growing planning consultancy in their search for a Planner or Senior Planner to join their expanding North West team.

This multidisciplinary consultancy has quickly risen to become one of the UK's top 20 planning firms. With over 50 town planners working across six regional hubs, they provide expert services in town planning, socio-economics, heritage, masterplanning, and architecture. Their collaborative approach and integrated service offering enable them to lead and deliver complex, strategic planning projects across the UK for a diverse client base, including major housebuilders, developers, and land promoters.

The Opportunity:

You'll join a growing and ambitious regional team working on strategic land projects, including major planning applications and land promotions, predominantly for residential-led schemes. You'll be supported by experts across design, heritage, and development economics, offering you real exposure to multidisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising on the development potential of land and buildings
  • Preparing planning applications, appeals, and policy research
  • Drafting Local Plan representations and engaging with examinations
  • Identifying land opportunities and undertaking site appraisals
  • Working closely with clients, consultants and colleagues across disciplines
  • Supporting business development initiatives and client relationship building
  • Involvement in planning appeals and Local Plan Examinations

What You'll Need:

  • RTPI-accredited planning qualification
  • MRTPI or working towards chartered status
  • Solid understanding of the UK planning system and process
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive, positive and team-oriented approach
  • A desire to contribute to a growing and forward-thinking planning team
