Associate Personal Injury Solicitor / CILEx Lawyer - Military Claims

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate-level Personal Injury Solicitor or CILEx Lawyer to join a specialist team working on military personal injury cases. This role offers the chance to handle a varied caseload of high-profile and politically sensitive matters, supporting service personnel, veterans, and their families.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for running a caseload under supervision, dealing with complex and high-value litigation. Applicants should ideally have 3-5 years' PQE, with experience in military claims and an understanding of the unique challenges involved in bringing claims against the Ministry of Defence. Knowledge of the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS) and Armed Forces Pension Schemes would be advantageous.
Claims will cover a wide range of issues, including:
Defective equipment
Training injuries and cold injuries
Assaults, bullying, harassment, and discrimination
AFCS applications and appeals
Noise-induced hearing loss
Key Responsibilities
Managing a caseload of military personal injury claims with limited supervision.
Handling matters at all stages, from initial instructions through to conclusion.
Drafting correspondence, pleadings, and legal documents to a high standard.
Preparing evidence and documentation for complex cases involving extensive disclosure.
Billing files and ensuring timely recovery of costs.
Responding to client enquiries and maintaining excellent standards of client care.
Supporting colleagues in the Personal Injury department where needed.
Skills & Experience Required
3-5 years' PQE (applications outside this range may be considered where relevant experience is shown).
Experience representing service personnel and veterans in complex, high-value litigation (County Court, High Court, and Tribunal Services).
Knowledge of the Service Complaints System.
Ability to manage sensitive and politically significant cases.
Excellent analytical, drafting, and advocacy skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively under pressure.
Team player with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
Passion for achieving justice and making a difference for service personnel, veterans, and their families.
Qualifications
Qualified Solicitor or CILEx Lawyer with a current practising certificate.
