Full-time: Typically 8-5 with an hours unpaid break but this can be discussed at interview

Role Overview
We're seeking an experienced Haulage Depot Manager to lead our Leeds-based depot, overseeing daily operations, customer service, and team management. The main focus of the role is business growth, ensuring health and safety compliance, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
People Management
- Lead and manage a team of drivers, yard staff, and administrative personnel (4 office staff members and approximately 30 drivers)
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to ensure high performance and employee engagement
- Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration
Customer Service
- Ensure excellent customer service, responding to queries and resolving issues promptly
- Build strong relationships with key customers, identifying opportunities to increase business
Depot Health and Safety
- Maintain a safe working environment, complying with health and safety regulations
- Conduct regular safety audits, identifying areas for improvement
- Promoting a culture of safety within the depot
Fleet Compliance
- Ensure fleet compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate records
- Optimising fleet performance
Container Storage Management
- Oversee efficient storage and management of containers
- Implement inventory control systems, tracking container movement and storage
- Optimise container utilisation, reducing unnecessary costs
Preferred Requirements
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a depot management or operations role, preferably in the haulage or logistics industry
- Leadership: Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
- Health and Safety: Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices, with the ability to maintain a safe working environment
- Operational Expertise: Ability to manage complex logistics and transportation operations
