We are seeking experienced, confidentMotor Claims Handlersto join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a specialist team, where you will be loaned out to both internal and external clients to offer your claims expertise.
This opportunity allows successful candidates to enhance their skillset, network with a diverse range of clients, develop knowledge of a variety of systems, and still be supported by your team. Each assignment typically lasts between 312 months, meaning that no two days will ever be the same!
Successful candidates will be employed on a secondment model, meaning you will be assigned to various teams based on business needs. While the assignments are temporary in nature, this is a permanent role, and after one secondment concludes, you will transition to another project within the organisation.
This role is fully remote; however, when working with our clients, you may be required to travel to their offices for training (including overnight stays, paid for by the company). You may also be required to attend our offices for meetings and events.
Key Responsibilities:- Managing a wide variety of motor claims from notification to settlement, ensuring that all stages of the claims process are handled efficiently.
- Evaluating and assessing claims thoroughly, including reviewing evidence and determining legal liability.
- Applying relevant legislation and regulations in claims handling, including familiarity with the pre-action protocol and portals.
- Quantifying injury claims and assessing associated losses, ensuring fair and accurate settlements.
- Effectively negotiating settlements with clients, insurers, and other stakeholders.
- Understanding and applying the CRU (Compensation Recovery Unit) process in the management of claims.
- Explaining complex legal and insurance concepts clearly and concisely to all parties involved.
- Identifying fraudulent claims and taking appropriate action to address them.
- Managing claims through the litigation process, adhering to required timescales and procedures. Experience in handling claims in Scottish, English, and Northern Irish jurisdictions is beneficial.
- Supporting both internal and external teams, providing expert motor claims handling support on a secondment basis.
- Proven experience in end-to-end motor claims handling, from initial notification through to settlement.
- Strong understanding of relevant motor insurance legislation, regulations, and claims protocols.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to resolve claims in a timely and fair manner.
- Experience in assessing injury claims and quantifying associated losses.
- Ability to navigate and apply the CRU process and manage claims within the pre-action protocol and portals.
- Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal and insurance concepts to a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess liability and identify fraud.
- A good understanding of the litigation process, including timescales, with experience in multiple jurisdictions (Scottish, English, and NI) being a plus.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
