Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer – Sherburn in ElmetElevation have the pleasure of working with a fast-paced manufacturing business based in the Sherburn in Elmet area, who are looking to recruit an experienced Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with immediate effect. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation offering long-term stability and great benefits.

Key Benefits

  • Overtime: Available at higher rates

  • Hours: Monday to Friday (Days/Afters) – 6am–2pm & 2pm–10pm with 15-min paid handover

  • Work-life balance: Monday to Friday only

The Business

This fast-paced manufacturing business is a leader in its field, operating from a modern site in Sherburn in Elmet. They pride themselves on innovation, teamwork, and providing an environment where engineers can continually develop their skills and career.

The Role

As a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and equipment across the site. Key duties include:

  • Carrying out general maintenance and installation of machinery from both an electrical and mechanical perspective

  • Attending to breakdowns across bespoke equipment such as pumps, valves, flow meters, laminating machines, extruders, wrapping and pick/pack machinery

  • Developing and completing preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules to minimise downtime

  • Fault finding on PLC systems (Siemens)

  • Liaising with other departments regarding breakdowns and equipment changes

  • Continuously promoting and adhering to health & safety standards

The Person

We are looking for an engineer with the following background and skills:

  • Qualified to at least Level 3 (City & Guilds/NVQ) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent knowledge

  • Sound mechanical and electrical knowledge (will be tested at interview)

  • Previous experience as a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing environment

  • PLC fault finding experience (programming not required)

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

  • Ideally holds 18th Edition qualification (not essential)

  • Excellent communication skills with strong English (both written and verbal)

  • Health & Safety qualifications desirable but not essential
