Site Manager – Civils & Groundworks

Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 DOE

Our client is a well-established civils and groundworks contractor operating across South Yorkshire. Right now, they're looking for a Site Manager to lead the delivery of our civil engineering projects from the ground up. This is a permanent opportunity with an immediate start available for the right person.
The Role:
As a Site Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll play a key role in coordinating teams, driving productivity, and maintaining our strong safety culture on-site.
Responsibilities:

Overseeing and managing civil engineering and groundworks projects on site

Planning and coordinating site labour, subcontractors, and materials

Enforcing and promoting high standards of health and safety at all times

Managing works including earthworks, drainage, substructures, RC works, and external finishes

Monitoring site progress and reporting against programme and budget

Carrying out site inductions, tool box talks and maintaining site records

Liaising with project managers, engineers, and the commercial team

Resolving site issues quickly and effectively

Ensuring compliance with design specifications and quality standards

Maintaining a well-organised, safe, and efficient site environment
What we’re looking for:
We’re after a driven and capable Site Manager with proven experience in civils and groundworks. You’ll be confident managing a variety of works including drainage, concrete structures, and large-scale earthworks. SMSTS and CSCS are essential, and strong leadership and communication skills are key. A sharp focus on health and safety is non-negotiable – it's at the core of everything we do.
