Job: Executive Search Consultant (Construction and Civil Engineering)
Location: Central Leeds (Hybrid)
Salary: 38,000 - 60,000 + OTE bonus + benefits (depending on experience)

We are now looking to appoint an ambitious and motivated Executive Search Consultant to help develop and expand our presence across Construction and Civil Engineering.
The Role
As an Executive Search Consultant you will deliver senior level retained search assignments across construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, highways, utilities and specialist contracting. You will engage with organisations delivering large scale capital projects, maintaining essential infrastructure and improving the built environment.
This role suits someone who understands technical, project driven settings and who thrives when building long term partnerships across operational and commercial functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Win, retain and deliver senior level retained search assignments across construction and civil engineering.
- Build relationships with contractors, consultancies, infrastructure operators and project led organisations.
- Prepare clear assignment briefs and manage structured, transparent search processes.
- Conduct detailed market research, talent mapping and targeted sourcing activity.
- Engage senior candidates across project leadership, engineering and commercial roles.
- Produce well structured shortlist reports and provide clear and timely client updates.
- Manage interviews, candidate preparation, feedback and offer negotiation.
- Contribute to business development and support commercial growth across construction and civil engineering markets.
- Operate professionally and transparently in line with Newman Stewart's values.
About You
You will be an ambitious professional with experience in executive search or consultative commercial environments and confident engaging with senior stakeholders across technical and operational functions.
You will be able to demonstrate:
- A successful record in executive search generating 180,000 in annual fees, or strong performance in a consultative and commercially focused role.
- Ability to systematically win new business, secure retained assignments and build trusted, long term partnerships.
- Strong communication, listening and interpersonal skills with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders and high level candidates.
- A proactive and resilient approach and the energy required to deliver high standards consistently.
- Strong organisation and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
- An interest in construction, infrastructure or engineering led markets.
- A collaborative mindset and a desire to contribute to a supportive high performance culture.
- A degree level education or equivalent professional experience is desirable.
