M&E Engineer - Band 4 (Project Engineer Level)
Location: Northern England (TRU Project - flexible site/office presence)

Project: Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU)
Overview:
Support the delivery of mechanical and electrical engineering solutions across TRU infrastructure, including stations, depots, and operational buildings. Ensure compliance with Network Rail standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and assess M&E / Building Services design documentation for compliance with project specifications and Network Rail standards.
- Collaborate with design consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate engineering outputs.
- Support integration of M&E systems into wider railway infrastructure, including HVAC, depot carriage wash, inspection pits, and lifting gear.
- Participate in technical reviews, risk assessments, and assurance processes.
- Provide engineering input during construction and commissioning phases.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer in the rail sector, specifically within M&E / Building Services.
- Strong understanding of railway infrastructure standards, including those for stations, depots, and operational buildings.
- Technical expertise in HVAC systems, depot carriage wash, inspection pits, and bogie lifting gear.
- Experience reviewing and coordinating M&E design deliverables.
- Familiarity with Network Rail processes, including GRIP, CDM, and assurance frameworks.
Desirable:
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (or working towards).
- Experience with BIM and digital engineering tools.
- Knowledge of sustainability and energy efficiency in rail environments.
