Marks Sattin is working with a well-established, multi-site organisation to recruit a Payroll Administrator into their finance team based in Leeds City Centre!

This is a great opportunity for someone with solid payroll experience looking to join a collaborative and fast-paced environment. If you have an eagerness to progress within payroll and would like to work closely with a very experienced manager, this role may be for you!

The role offers a competitive salary of £30,000, hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 from home), and 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor payroll submission deadlines and ensure timely receipt of data
  • Maintain and verify time and attendance records
  • Liaise with internal teams to validate payroll inputs
  • Administer epayslips and reconcile data from payroll bureau
  • Support onboarding/offboarding processes including starters, leavers, and transfers
  • Track absence records and calculate holiday pay for leavers
  • Administer weekly early pay software (e.g. Wagestream)
  • Respond to payroll queries including pay, deductions, and tax
  • Provide payroll-related data for audits and reporting
  • Support training of new administrative staff on payroll systems and legislation
  • Ad-hoc support to the Payroll Manager and wider finance/HR teams
Essential Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years' UK payroll experience in a multi-site environment
  • Experience with hourly paid, weekly payrolls
  • Strong understanding of PAYE, pensions, and statutory obligations
  • Confident working with payroll bureaus
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
