Payroll Officer – International Scope | Hybrid (UK-based)Covering UK, Ireland, Malta, Portugal, Ceuta & SpainPermanent | Part of a small, expert teamAre you a detail-driven payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment? Join our tight-knit, collaborative Payroll team and play a key role in delivering smooth, accurate pay experiences across our international workforce.Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you’ll take ownership of end-to-end payroll processes for several regions, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely delivery — all while working closely with HR, Finance, and external partners.  What You'll Be Doing
  • Manage the full payroll cycle for assigned regions
  • Accurately input and validate payment and deduction data
  • Perform pre- and post-payroll checks to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Liaise with HMRC, pension providers, and statutory bodies
  • Handle pay period and year-end processes, including statutory submissions
  • Resolve payroll queries from employees and external agencies
  • Support payroll reconciliations with Finance
  • Maintain payroll documentation and process notes
  • Identify and suggest process improvements
  • Provide cover and support across the payroll team
What You’ll BringEssential:
  • Experience in a high-volume payroll environment
  • Deep understanding of UK payroll legislation (tax, NI, AE, RTI)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Professional, discreet, and confidential approach to sensitive data
  • Confident user of Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and work well under pressure
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with ROI or wider international payrolls
  • Retail payroll background
  • Familiarity with Zellis ResourceLink
  • Payroll reporting experience for leadership/finance
  • Understanding of payroll-related accounting principles
