We are working with a number of vibrant and inclusive primary schools across Leeds seeking passionate and dedicated SEN Support Teaching Assistants to join their teams on a temporary-to-permanent basis.

About the Role:

As a SEN Support TA, you'll work closely with pupils with a variety of special educational needs, offering both 1:1 support and small group interventions. You will be supporting pupils in and out of the classroom, helping them access the curriculum and thrive both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and group support to pupils with SEN

  • Support pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other complex needs

  • Deliver structured interventions using tools such as PECS and Makaton

  • Implement behaviour support strategies and set clear boundaries

  • Foster a nurturing, safe, and inclusive learning environment

  • Liaise with professionals including teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies such as social services

  • Encourage independence and personal growth for pupils from diverse and often disadvantaged backgrounds

What We're Looking For:
  • Experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting

  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviour positively and effectively

  • A nurturing approach with a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable pupils

  • Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with pupils and staff

  • Experience or willingness to learn PECS, Makaton, or similar communication methods
