Empowering Learning is a market leading education recruitment company. We are working in partnership with a large primary school in Leeds, who is looking to appoint a SENDCO.

The job

Day-to-day management: Oversees the day-to-day running of the school's SEND policy.

Student support: Arranges and coordinates extra support for children with SEND, working to ensure they can succeed and feel confident in school.

Collaboration: Works closely with parents, other teachers, and external professionals like health services to ensure a consistent support plan.

Policy implementation: Ensures the school's SEND policy is put into practice effectively.

Staff support: Helps other staff members to support children with SEND.

The successful candidate will

  • Hold a teaching qualification.
  • Hold a degree or equivalent.
  • Have outstanding teaching practice.
  • Have excellent behaviour management.
  • Have experience in lesson observations and giving robust feedback.
  • Have experience in improvement planning.
  • Have experience in implementing a range of strategies to raise student achievement, with evidence of success.
  • Contribution to impact on the quality of learning and teaching and curriculum.
  • A proven track record of excellent results at EYFS/KS1/KS2
  • Have experience in high-quality pupil tracking and feedback practices.
