We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to lead the expansion and modernisation of our clients new manufacturing unit. The successful candidate will oversee facility expansion projects, commission new machinery, and implement automation and digital transformation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and infrastructure capability.

This role requires strong technical, organisational, and leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver large-scale projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations for the plant expansion and modernisation program.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Manage project progress, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies to ensure milestones are met.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, compliance, and quality standards throughout all project stages.
  • Oversee construction, layout redesign, and commissioning of the expanded production facility.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure new layouts align with workflow and capacity requirements.
  • Coordinate with utilities, local authorities, and service providers for facility readiness.
  • Lead installation, testing, and commissioning of new manufacturing machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure smooth handover from vendors to production teams, including training and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise production processes and reduce downtime.
  • Drive implementation of automation systems, robotics, and digital control solutions.
  • Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to integrate smart factory technologies (IoT, SCADA, MES).
  • Lead modernisation of utilities and support infrastructure, ensuring scalability and energy efficiency.
  • Serve as the central point of contact between leadership, engineering, production, and vendors.
  • Provide regular project updates to management, highlighting progress, challenges, and risk mitigation.
  • Manage procurement, contracts, and vendor performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
  • Experience in manufacturing project management, preferably within an industrial, FMCG, or process manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record in facility expansion, equipment commissioning, and automation implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (PMP or PRINCE2 certification desirable).
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, process improvement, and digital transformation concepts.
