The CompanyNigel Wright Group are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a leading service provider in their search for an Indirect Category Manager.The OpportunityWorking within a dynamic Procurement Team, the Category Manager will support the Head of Procurement in achieving procurement targets across various categories.Your primary focus will be devising and implementing strategic plans for specific categories which may include Travel, PPE, Utilities, Property, Labour and Goods and Services. Key responsibilities will include:
  • Leading procurement activity for your specific business function, sourcing and negotiating goods and services
  • Defining and implementing strategy for your categories
  • Managing the end-to-end procurement cycle, from source to contract
  • Monitoring category spend, ensuring best value, consolidating supply where possible
  • Contract management and supplier relationship management
  • Representing Procurement in cross functional meetings
About YouThe successful Indirect Category Manager will have/be:
  • Proven track record in indirect category management (ideally multisite) 
  • Category management knowledge within some of the following areas beneficial, not essential - Travel, Fleet, PPE, Utilities, Property, Labour and Goods and Services
  • Experienced in implementing category strategy
  • Excellent stakeholder management/supplier relationship management, contract negotiation skills including rebates
  • Self motivated, autonomous and driven with excellent analytical skills, accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment
  • Commercially astute with a continuous improvement mindset
  • MCIPS or equivalent experience beneficial
