Materials Planner

Our client is a fast-growing food manufacturing business committed to excellence in quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. To support our continued growth, we are seeking a skilled Materials Planning Manager with strong SAP experience to lead our planning function and ensure smooth, efficient supply chain operations.

The Role

As Materials Planning Manager, you will oversee all aspects of materials and production planning, ensuring the right raw materials and packaging are available at the right time to meet production schedules. You will work closely with procurement, production, and supply chain teams, driving efficiency and accuracy through the effective use of SAP.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the materials planning function to support production schedules and customer demand.

• Develop, implement, and optimise planning strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and minimise waste.

• Manage stock levels of raw materials and packaging, ensuring optimal inventory control.

• Utilise SAP to manage MRP, demand forecasts, and capacity planning.

• Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure end-to-end supply chain alignment.

• Analyse planning data and KPIs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a small planning team to achieve operational excellence.

About You

• Proven experience as a Materials Planning Manager (or similar role) in the food or FMCG industry.

• Strong working knowledge of SAP (essential).

• Excellent understanding of MRP, inventory management, and supply chain principles.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Effective leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• APICS/CPIM/CSCP or similar certification (desirable).
