You will be responsible for:
- Preparing estimates based on drawings and specifications
- The ability to take-off quantities and to prepare a pricing document
- Obtaining pricing for elements of the building from subcontractors and suppliers
- Assisting in the maintaining of the cost data base
- Presenting the estimate to the Estimating Director and when necessary to the Board of Directors
- Building relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc.)
- Co-operating with the application of quality assurance procedures
- Ensuring confidentiality is maintained with respect to all information obtained during the course of employment, particularly with respect to information provided by, or obtained from, others
- Being able to identify potential risks on a project
You will need:
- A Quantity Surveying or Estimating background with at least 3 years satisfactory experience
- To have successfully completed and graduated from a third level degree course accredited to at least NFQ Level 7 in quantity surveying, construction economics or an equivalent
