Quantity Surveyor – Rail / Civil Engineering
Location: Leeds / Hybrid (Work from Home Flexibility)
Salary: £30,000 – £55,000 + Package (DOE)

We are seeking a driven Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established contractor delivering key projects in the rail and wider civil engineering infrastructure sector. This role is based out of Leeds with flexibility to work from home, offering excellent exposure and development opportunities.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs, contracts, and commercial performance across a portfolio of infrastructure schemes. While previous rail experience is desirable, strong civil engineering or infrastructure experience is key. This position is also open to ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyors looking to step up into a Quantity Surveyor role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial management of projects under NEC contracts.

  • Preparing valuations, variations, and cost forecasts.

  • Managing subcontractor accounts and payments.

  • Supporting project delivery teams to ensure schemes are delivered within budget and timescales.

  • Producing accurate financial reports and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships.

  • Identifying and mitigating commercial and contractual risks.

About You
  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor (or Assistant ready to step up) within civil engineering or infrastructure.

  • Knowledge of NEC contracts is highly desirable.

  • Rail project experience is advantageous but not essential.

  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage multiple work streams.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred but not essential).
