Quantity Surveyor

Location: Burton-on-Trent

Salary: £55,000–£60,000 per annum (depending on experience)

I’m working with a leading industrial solutions provider based in Burton-on-Trent, looking for a capable Quantity Surveyor with retail construction experience to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent role offering exposure to multiple workstreams and a wide variety of fast-paced fit-out and refurbishment projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all commercial aspects across multiple retail and industrial projects
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and management
  • Track project costs and report on value engineering opportunities
  • Monitor variations, valuations, and payment applications
  • Work closely with delivery teams to ensure projects remain commercially viable
  • Support the wider commercial and operational teams across all stages of the build

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the retail construction or fit-out sector
  • Strong understanding of contract law and construction contracts (JCT preferred)
  • Skilled in cost reporting, tendering, and subcontractor management
  • Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Confident communicator with strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Full UK driving licence
