Quantity Surveyor
Location: Burton-on-Trent
Salary: £55,000–£60,000 per annum (depending on experience)
I’m working with a leading industrial solutions provider based in Burton-on-Trent, looking for a capable Quantity Surveyor with retail construction experience to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent role offering exposure to multiple workstreams and a wide variety of fast-paced fit-out and refurbishment projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all commercial aspects across multiple retail and industrial projects
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions
- Oversee subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and management
- Track project costs and report on value engineering opportunities
- Monitor variations, valuations, and payment applications
- Work closely with delivery teams to ensure projects remain commercially viable
- Support the wider commercial and operational teams across all stages of the build
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the retail construction or fit-out sector
- Strong understanding of contract law and construction contracts (JCT preferred)
- Skilled in cost reporting, tendering, and subcontractor management
- Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Confident communicator with strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Full UK driving licence
