A well-established, independent construction consultancy is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing infrastructure team based in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to take the lead on major projects and play a key role within a supportive and forward-thinking business.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor

The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will be joining a consultancy known for its hands-on approach and technical expertise across the infrastructure sector, including highways, utilities, rail, and civil engineering. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working with a variety of public and private sector clients, helping to deliver cost-effective solutions on both new build and improvement schemes.

This role would suit a Senior Quantity Surveyor who is already chartered or actively working towards MRICS, and who is confident managing complex projects from pre-contract through to final account. Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders are essential.

Senior Quantity Surveyor responsibilities:

  • Leading infrastructure projects across various stages of development
  • Preparing cost plans, bills of quantities, and tender documentation
  • Managing valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Providing strategic cost advice to clients
  • Supporting junior team members and contributing to training and development
  • Maintaining client relationships and representing the consultancy at meetings

Senior Quantity Surveyor requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • MRICS or working towards chartership (preferred)
  • Extensive experience in infrastructure projects (highways, civils, rail, or utilities)
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts essential
  • Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects independently
