We are seeking a highly versatile, professional and self-motivated individual, who will be part our Production team involved in a dynamic and varied role helping to support the smooth running of our production facility in Leeds.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent organisational and communication skills. They must demonstrate flexibility with a hands-on approach and a can-do attitude dealing with a wide variety of tasks.

The Role:

Under the leadership, guidance and support of the Shift Manager your areas of responsibility will include:

  • To assist the Production Manager and Shift Manager with day-today operational issues, to ensure the smooth running of the production department.
  • Having full site responsibility on days when the Shift Manager or Senior Management are not on site.
  • To ensure that all areas of production are adequately staffed, resourced and utilised to achieve operational targets.
  • Take responsibility for staff training, including on the job training, health and safety training.
  • To ensure that Health and Safety Legislation, policies and procedures are adhered to and a culture of safe working promoted, including management of all PPE.
  • To review the performance of production staff and identify, influence and implement training and development needs for these staff, whilst acting as a mentor.
  • To ensure that the Management Team are advised and informed as appropriate.
  • To follow clear and concise communication channels across all operational departments and all other business functions.
  • To work with the packing/loading department to ensure sufficient supply of linen.
  • To be responsible for managing all production staff within your remit, including welfare issues.
  • To monitor and effectively manage staff annual leave.
  • To adhere to strictest confidentiality standards with regards to all Company financial, salary and HR matters.
  • To actively monitor quality and to work with staff and the Engineering Department to deliver the Quality Standards.
  • To complete necessary continued personal development.
  • Other Ad hoc duties as required.

The Candidate:

  • An experienced manager, familiar with a diverse workforce;
  • Proven track record within a fast-paced production environment;
  • Conversant with health and safety, including risk assessments;
  • Proactive and can-do attitude;
  • Flexible approach to working hour
  • Ideally from a Laundry industry background
