About Us:We’re a well-established, independent equipment rental company serving the construction industry with a strong reputation for reliability, service, and customer focus. Due to continued growth, we're looking for a Hire Controller to join our close-knit team.
The Role:As a Hire Controller, you’ll be the linchpin of our daily operations - coordinating equipment hire, managing customer accounts, and ensuring every hire runs smoothly. You'll work closely with our clients, drivers, and workshop staff to deliver a seamless service from enquiry to collection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle incoming hire enquiries via phone and email
- Generate hire quotes and process bookings
- Schedule deliveries and collections with our drivers
- Maintain accurate records of equipment availability and usage
- Build strong relationships with new and existing customers
- Liaise with workshop to ensure equipment is ready and safe for hire
- Deal with breakdowns or off-hires in a professional and timely manner
About You:
- Previous experience in a hire desk, plant hire, or construction rental environment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude
- Confident using hire management systems (experience with Syrinx, MCS, or similar is a bonus)
- Calm under pressure and able to juggle multiple tasks at once
- A genuine team player who’s happy to muck in when needed
