We are honoured to be recruiting for our client, a leading manufacturer within the food production industry. They are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Sales Engineer to join their expanding team. The company specialises in advanced bakery equipment, including ovens, packaging, and mixing solutions, designed to enhance production efficiency and product quality across the industry.

Role of Sales Engineer -

The Sales Engineer will be responsible for driving sales of the company’s comprehensive range of bakery equipment to both new and existing factories across the United Kingdom. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge and sales expertise to identify customer needs, provide tailored equipment solutions, and cultivate strong, lasting relationships. Please note there is no management of people within this role - it is management of the process/product.

Key Responsibilities of Sales Engineer -

  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to achieve your sales targets and expand the client base
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in new and existing factories
  • Provide expert technical advice on the full range of bakery equipment, including ovens, packaging, and mixing solutions
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling within existing accounts
  • Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to ensure seamless delivery and installation of equipment
  • Stay informed on industry trends and innovations to effectively position the company’s products in the market
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to promote products and services

Experience and Qualifications Required -

  • A proven track record in sales within the bakery, food production, or related industries
  • An engineering qualification in a relevant field (mechanical, electrical, or food engineering preferred)
  • Strong technical understanding of food production processes and equipment
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a national sales territory
  • A commitment to providing exceptional customer service and delivering technical solutions that meet customer needs
